Be a Chemical Engineer

Imagine how like a magician, the Chemical Engineer brings together all his knowledge of chemistry to math, physics or economics to transform one material into another more efficient form. He could be looking into the oxidation process to create other chemicals from it; or he could be trying out new methods of making plastics. His skills are required in the production of nearly everything that we use, e.g. energy, food, paper, even clothing (think synthetic fibres) . They are all-rounders who juggle their skills in math, physics, mechanical or electrical engineering, biology and chemistry in manufacturing. Often known as "the universal engineer" by virtue of their broad base in scientific and technical mastery.

Overview

Profile of a Chemical Engineer

Please refer to the profile of an Engineer, though the greatest distinguishing quality is his versatility in bringing chemistry into engineering to make new products or to solve problems.

Qualifications

To begin with a degree in Chemical Engineering is a prerequisite. The same certification process applies as with other engineers who want to be registered as professionals.
