Be a Mechanical Engineer

We owe a lot of what we use daily to the skills of the Mechanical Engineer - from our refrigerators, washing machines to cars, computers, aircraft etc, all of which require input from the mechanical engineer. Anything that has moving parts and objects and systems with motion is the domain of the Mechanical Engineer.

Overview

Profile of a Mechanical Engineer

All Engineers, whether Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Electronic, Aeronautical, Chemical, Material or Petroleum share certain characteristics if this profile; the emphasis probably varies depending on their specializations.

Are you practical, down to earth and yet creative? Are you inspired by the many marvels that engineering has brought, such as the moon landing, super highways and trains, microprocessors, jumbo jets, lasers and fiber optics, genetically engineered products? To be a part of all this wonder you need

Qualifications

A basic degree in Engineering is required. The Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is the statutory body that regulates profession conduct and practice of registered engineers. Upon graduation you would work towards being registered if you wish to practise in Malaysia. Other professional bodies relevant to each specialization of engineering are The Institute of Engineers (IE), The Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) The Institute of Chemical Engineers
